Emel Mathlouthi at National Sawdust
Emel Mathlouthi presents a collection of the most virulent ones among songs from her first album, Kelmti Horra, written during the dictatorship years in Tunisia, calling for hope and Revolution, freedom and faith in truth and popular power. These songs will be interpreted with the help of cellist and National Sawdust curator Jeffrey Zeigler, in a very unconventional and free way, accompanied with distorted percussion live samples played by a drummer.
In addition, Emel also plays at Lycée Français in New York on the 15th.
