About Franck Amsallem
A superior pianist, Franck Amsallem has also had a parallel and sometimes overlapping career as an arranger/composer and singer. With nine CDs under his name,  as well as a major collaboration on Blue Note USA, “New York Stories”, he has been on the scene in the USA and in France for over 35 years. While living in NY, his sideman credits included some of the greatest names in jazz and beyond: Gerry Mulligan, Charles Lloyd, Jerry Bergonzi, Joe Chambers, Maria Schneider, and Harry Belafonte as well as Gary Bartz, Bobby Watson, Rick Margitza, Tim Ries, and Blood Sweat and Tears. The recipient of major awards (NEA composition fellowship, ASCAP award for young composers, Fondation de la Vocation, FACE cultural exchange) in both the U.S. and France, Franck has played all over the world. As a composer, he has been commissioned, composed for and conducted the WDR Jazz Orchestra and the National Jazz Orchestra of France (O.N.J.), the Mel Lewis Jazz Orchestra, and several chamber and symphony orchestras. Other commissions include “Place Du Temps” for chamber orchestra, and “Brooding” for solo piano (2013).

In 2009, Franck released “Amsallem Sings”, showcasing his talents as a pianist-singer, and featuring 12 songs from the Great American Songbook. A new trio opus, “Franck Amsallem Sings Vol. II” was just released in September 2014.
