Onra DJ Set Monday May 20th 2013 at Le Bain, NYC

Onra is coming back to New York for a high-energy DJ set on the 18th floor of the Standard Hotel at Le Bain. With inspirations varying from genres such as soul, hip hop, electronic, jazz, RnB, dub, and world, Onra creates powerful beats for the dancefloor. In 2012, Onra released his latest EP, Deep In The Night, on Fool’s Gold Records. Additionally, under his side project Yatha Bhuta Jazz Combo, he just released a new album with Boddhi Satva (4.23 on All City Records).

Globetrotting producer Onra has staked his claim as one of the most exciting beat-makers of the past few years, thanks to releases like his Chinoseries collections, an album made from scratch with samples found while traveling Asia) and the acclaimed Long Distance LP. All the while, his electrifying live MPC performances around the world – everywhere from the Red Bull Music Academy in Bucharest and Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Festival, to LA’s down-and-dirty bass sanctuary the Low End Theory – add new dimensions to the cosmic grooves Onra puts on tape.
