Ibeyi Interviewed in The Wild

Ibeyi, who are preparing to release their debut album on XL Recordings and tour the US with a stop at Austin’s SXSW festival in March, were just interviewed by The Wild magazine.

The trendy Brooklyn-based fashion, culture, and lifestyle mag has shown an interest in the French-Cuban twin music duo, featured the group’s video “Mama Says” back in August, here

On making the video for their latest single “River”, Lisa of Ibeyi says:

“They always make female artists look so beautiful but there’s no heart, it’s not deep, it’s not visceral, it’s just easy. So I said to Ed Morris [the director], I want something that’s twisted.”
